Installation, repair or service of aerobic septic systems can only be done by someone licensed to do so by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Someone in the plumbing, electric or irrigation business is not necessarily state licensed to work on your system and may do more harm than good, costing you more money and grief in the long run. You can access the TCEQ website: www.tceq.state.tx.us to determine if a specific individual is licensed or registered. Registration of septic companies is no longer required by TCEQ.
